Due to expansion and business growth we are looking for a Group Product Specialist to join our team. This role will involve supporting our sales team and customers with Agricultural equipment including Fastrac business for Alnwick, Carlisle, Carnforth, Dumfries and Newcastle, and Fastrac, Massey Ferguson and Horsch business in the Borders and Lothians.

The position will be based at our Kelso depot with regular travel to our other sites and customers. 

Who are we?

The Scot JCB Group is made up of Scot JCB, Scot Agri and Stewart Plant Sales.

Scot Agri provides machinery sales, service and parts from industry leaders JCB, Massey Ferguson, Horsch, KTWO, BVL and more across our nine agricultural depots. We pride ourselves on offering unrivalled customer service and industry leading response times.

This role involves:

  • Providing specialist support to the sales team on Fastrac and Massey Ferguson tractors along with machinery from Massey Ferguson and Horsch:
    • Ensuring the product is correctly demonstrated
    • Providing quotations that are specified to the customer’s requirements
    • Answering customers’ technical queries
  • Ensuring new machines are correctly installed to customer’s requirements and operators are suitably instructed on correct use of the machine
  • Managing the Agricultural demonstrator fleet:
    • Ensuring these are fully utilised in a targeted demo programme
    • Ensuring all demo machines are correctly maintained
    • Demos to be available to all geographic areas and market sectors
    • Arranging use of JCB demo machines to supplement Scot JCB stock
    • Ensuring demos are targeted for sale at appropriate age/hours
  • Ensuring the computer systems are kept up to date regarding product enquiries (in conjunction with sales engineers)
  • Liaising with the service department to ensure the product is correctly supported throughout demonstration, installation, and ongoing use
  • Monitoring sales volumes and discussing with the Sales Management Team to ensure targets are achieved and any agricultural machinery sales bonus earnings maximised
  • Assisting management to oversee the condition and use of the relevant demo fleet
  • Reporting to management on daily events, diary plans and progress within their remit
  • Managing, planning and executing an efficient and cost effective demo plan for the whole demo fleet within your area
  • Promoting the wider Scot JCB brand, products and services generally when in contact with customers
  • Attending appropriate Scot JCB stands at trade shows and exhibitions

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in the agriculture industry and strong, in-depth knowledge of agricultural machinery
  • Relevant sales experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Proactive and conscientious nature
  • Negotiation skills covering price, costs, delivery, and specifications with buyers (or the desire to learn)
  • Presentation and demonstration experience
  • Strong communication skills and a good understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office packages and IT systems
  • We would be interested in hearing from Graduates with an Agricultural background
